About Agathiyar Siddhar:

Agathiyar Siddhar also called as the father of Siddha Medicine system. He contributed more towards the ancient medicine system through various texts. It’s believed that the Siddhar Agathiyar is a testament to Siddha Medicine System

Agathiyar Siddhar is the chief exponent of the Tamil Siddha Medicine system, he is considered as father of ancient medical system and chief of 18 Siddhars.  Check out Tamil Siddha maruthuvam books. He is the direct disciple of the Lord Muruga/ Subramanian and acquired the knowledge of ream in Siddha medicinal system from Lord Shiva and other saints. He leant Tamil language and siddha medical system in Pothigai hills, from the Lord Muruga – who hailed as the forerunner of Tamil language and Tamil Siddha Medicine System.

For many centuries, he headed the Tamil sangam which plays important role in the development of Tamil language. He excels in several languages, Siddha medicines, Siddha Yoga, Siddha Gnana philosophies, Siddha Alchemy for medicine and rejuvenation. He had many qualifications like experienced Siddha Doctor, Philosopher, Alchemist, Miracle performer etc…

He works on the preparation of Universal salt (Muppu and Amuri) for both alchemical and medicinal purpose. It was called as universal salt because when added to medicines in small amounts, they have potential to improve the value of original medicine to higher extent.

It is strongly believed that he still lives on the earth and guides his disciplines to follow and enhance siddha medical systems. Some of the notable disciplines of Agathiyar Siddhar was Siddhar Pulasthiyar, Siddhar Yacob or Ramadevar Siddhar, sundaranandar siddhar, Theraiyar Siddhar, Yugimuni Siddhar, Siddhar Thiruvalluvar etc. are few of his recognized list of disciples.
